1 Year Diploma Program
FZD School of Design is founded on the principle of providing the best possible training for our students.
We have prepared a one year program specifically designed for individuals looking for a career in the entertainment design industry. This program is divided into 3 terms. Each term runs for 15 weeks with a two week break in between. Students must complete all 3 terms in order to graduate. This one year program is very intense and specialized, so please read all the relevant information before making your decision to enroll.
Our courses cover a broad range of topics from basic fundamental understanding to advanced design and rendering techniques. Students will graduate with a Diploma in Industrial Design and a vast array of professional skills. This program is open to local Singaporeans and International students. Term 1 : Discovering the importance of Fundamentals
Use of horizon line and vanishing points to construct objects in 3d space
Learn the draw-through method
Using values to render forms
Building up the visual library
Work on assignments
Term 2 : Expanding Visual Library
Sketching characters, objects and sceneries
Lighting, mood, composition and values
Introduction of design projects. Students explore a wide range of topics and themes
Using Photoshop and SketchUp as design tools
Work on assignments
Term 3 : Developing Story Driven Portfolio
Longer design projects with game and film themed topics
Students continue to build up their 3d skills
Colour, lighting, mood, and composition
Printed portfolios, blogs and websites
